Eyedle lives quietly in your menu bar and protects your eyes — without ever watching you. The short version: it collects nothing, and nothing it does ever leaves your Mac.
Data collection
Eyedle collects no data. No personal information, no usage analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, no device identifiers — nothing is gathered, and there are no servers to send it to.
How the timer works
Everything runs locally on your Mac. To know when to suggest a break, Eyedle checks how long it has been since you last used your keyboard or mouse — it reads only the elapsed idle time through macOS, never what you type or click, and that figure is used in the moment and never stored.
Your settings
Your preferences — break rhythm, break style, sounds, and the like — are stored locally using macOS's standard preferences system. They stay on your Mac and are removed when you delete the app.
Notifications
If you choose notification-style breaks, Eyedle asks your permission to send notifications and then delivers them entirely on your device. No notification ever involves a server.
Third-party services
Eyedle integrates no third-party SDKs, no analytics, no advertising networks, and no external APIs. It runs sandboxed and makes no network connections at all.
Children's privacy
Eyedle collects no data from anyone, including children. It carries a 4+ rating on the Mac App Store.
